New Web Broker Portal from Northdoor will consolidate essential broker data in 'the cloud'
04 March 2011
Northdoor, the IT consultancy and solutions provider, has today announced the launch of its enhanced Web Broker Portal, an innovative solution which consolidates data into a single web-based platform in order to give added mobility to brokers and coverholders by providing quick and easy access to important quotation data and information. The Web Broker Portal is now also available on Microsoft Azure.
Northdoor’s Web Broker Portal provides a comprehensive central document and data repository that can be accessed via all web browsers and systems including Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. As the Portal is accessible via all of the latest mobile technology, including iPads and Android devices, information can be accessed both onsite and offsite, whenever it is required.
The Portal can also be used as a powerful tool to collate and manage important data, thus providing a clearer view of key information for authorised users. Users simply need to log in through a secure ID and password to access a centralised database, thereby increasing the speed at which information can be accessed and deployed.
Rob Stavrou, director of consultancy at Northdoor, says:
"By providing easy access to such a wide range of business-critical information, the Web Broker Portal will give companies the ability to control pricing factors across the book, as well as the ability to achieve more accurate policyholder profiling."
Rob Stavrou continues:
"At the same time, the flexibility and transparency of the data being provided will offer additional benefits, such as improved credit control, more comprehensive audit capabilities and support for the increasing focus of Lloyd’s and the FSA on delegated underwriting controls."
The web-based nature of the Portal means that it can be easily deployed via Microsoft’s Windows Azure Platform, as well as other cloud platforms. Likewise, it can be easily customised by individual companies in order to address any specific businesses requirements they may have.
By making the Web Broker Portal available on cloud, the solution now offers greater flexibility and scalability. The portal can be rapidly deployed without significant upfront costs in infrastructure in the client’s organisation if such resources are not readily available. The computing power can also be scaled up or down based on the usage demand, allowing more control and transparency.
